The establishment of the Tirebolu Faculty of Communication under the Rectorate of Giresun University; Pursuant to the Ministry of National Education’s letter dated 24/07/2008, No. 18464, and in accordance with Article 30 of the Additional Provisions of Law No. 2809 dated 28/03/1983, the Council of Ministers decided on 30/07/2008. (Decision No.: 2008/14007). This decision entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette No. 26967 dated 14/08/2008.

The Faculty of Communication currently consists of three departments: the Department of Journalism, the Department of Public Relations and Publicity, and the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema.
