The establishment of the Tirebolu Faculty of Communication, under the Rectorate of Giresun University, was approved by the Council of Ministers on July 30, 2008, in accordance with Article 30 of the Law No. 2809, following the proposal of the Ministry of National Education dated July 24, 2008, and numbered 18464. (Decision No: 2008/14007). This decision was published in the Official Gazette on August 14, 2008, issue No. 26967, and thereby entered into force.
Currently, the Faculty of Communication comprises three departments: Public Relations and Promotion, Radio, Television and Cinema, and Journalism.
